The Excellence in Education Skiing for Schools program is giving skiers and snowboarders access to pre-purchase a reduced rate lift ticket, on sale now.

Proceeds from the Skiing for Schools program benefit quality public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. Money raised goes directly into the school district via Excellence in Education Foundation’s grant programs.

“The passion and legacy that makes North Lake Tahoe so unique is due in huge part to the students and faculty at our local schools,” explained Liesl Hepburn, Public Relations Director of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, in a statement.

“Local kids bring the energy and fun to our mountains, and we are so proud to support their development through Excellence in Education. We started working with Skiing for Schools back in 1991, and our staff has been committed to the success of the program ever since. Thank you Excellence in Education for your deep dedication to resourcing the children community.”

Participating North Tahoe resorts include Homewood, Northstar California, Tahoe Donner Downhill, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, Tahoe XC, and Tahoe Donner Cross Country. Lift tickets can be purchased for personal use or for gifts this holiday season. There is a limited supply of lift tickets available and they are sold on a first come, first served basis. Some restrictions apply.

The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation is a private, a nonprofit organization created to enhance public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD). Each year, the foundation contributes approximately $250,000 in grant funding to the school district.

Tickets are not available for purchase at the resorts, but may be pre-purchased online at http://www.exined.org or in person at Tahoe Dave’s ski shops. Trail passes for Tahoe XC are also available at Alpenglow in Tahoe City and Paco’s in Truckee.
